Five teacher trainees from TTAG-Volta were honored at GSA 2023.
The night of 15th September 2023 was just another glorious day for the Colleges of Education in Ghana most especially, the Volta Sector as five students from the Colleges we’re honored by the Ghana Student Awards.
The maiden awards night brought students from tertiary institutions across the country.
The teaching fraternity seems to be hording a lot of talents and potentials.
The importance of the awards scheme according to the organizers, is to link students of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, reward excellence, and provide the opportunity for the young generation to learn from the aging generation.
The maiden edition of the award scheme though not absolutely perfect in terms of the organization revealed the emergence of a generation that is poised towards the development of Ghana.
The scheme also brought to light the “Ghana Mark Zuckerbergs” and “Ghana
Bill gates” as students in the technology field were honored.
The award scheme recognized a lot of categories. The categories include; Best
Student MC, Best Student Software Developer, Best Student Female Model, Best Student TV Presenter, Best Student Radio Presenter, Best Student-Teacher Trainee, Best Student Blogger, and others.
The presence of some influential personalities in Ghana was a motivation for the youth.
In attendance was the Channel Manager for Pan African TV, TV presenters, Rosemond Brown is popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, Clement Ashiteye (Clemento Suarez)
to mention a few.
The teaching fraternity was blessed to see a lecturer from the University of Education-Winneba on Stage.
The long-awaited dawn of teacher inclusion seems to be realized at the event.
The years of undermining the potential of teachers in our country are currently coming to an end.
In a country with thousands of tertiary education students, a win for a College of Education student in a category clustered with mates from the universities reveals the sudden realization of the potential of the teaching profession.
The event saw a win for Master Joshua Kwasi Tettey, who is currently the TTAG-V
PRM as the Best Student MC of The Year. He was rewarded for the great competence and confidence he has shown over the years.
The educational aim of the program was fulfilled by Master Kwaku Courage Kodzo, 1 General Secretary of St. Francis College of Education who was awarded the Best Student Teacher Trainee of the year. He took advantage of his turn to educate the participant on the use of ‘earlier and early on’. A grammatical confusion that has to engulf Ghanaian English speakers.
