Foso COE Principal speaks on feeding components of the trainee’s allowance 2023/2024

Based on the interview, Dr. Anthony Baabereyir is the Principal of Foso College of Education, a geographer by training, and has a PhD from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He has a strong background in environmental education, disaster management, sanitation, and urban management.

Dr. Baabereyir’s greatest challenge was financing his education as he grew up in poverty. When asked about the argument that the feeding component of student allowances should be used to cover part of their fees for the next academic year, he stated that the feeding grant is meant for feeding students and not for fees.

He also noted that Foso College of Education has an active gender policy and encourages female students to take up leadership positions. Lastly, his dream as Principal is to transform Foso College of Education into a full university and a center of excellence for teacher education in Africa.
